Subliminal gambling messages
By Daniel Michaels, Mar 13th 2007Ontario's local gaming operators recently closed down 87 video slot machines, removing them from its casinos after a CBC study founded what appear to be some hidden messages flashing at gamblers.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming is worried about 3 games on video slots designed by a corporation named Konami. The Lottery removed the games as a preventative measure, as the situation is being analyzed.
Some psychologists informed CBC News that the games flashed winning jackpot symbols at gamblers for a fifth of a second, long enough for the mind to sense even though the gamblers are not aware of the message.
Experts sustain that it's not clear if the messages are manipulating the gambler's behavior. To confirm that fact, further investigation is required.
